ABSTRACT

The main objective of this project is to focus on some factors in the seminal fluid that are thought to affect sperm motility. These factors include bacteriospermia, antisperm antibodies (ASA) and lipid preoxidation caused by reactive oxygen species (ROS). To achieve this goal, the following steps will be conducted:

1-      Evaluate the prevalence of bacteriospermia and the mean of antisperm antibodies titer in semen samples.

2-      Identify the different types of microorganisms and antisperm antibodies that may be found in semen.

3-      Estimate lipid peroxidation caused by reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the seminal fluid which is known to have severe effect on spermatozoa.

4-      Estimate the levels of the enzymes catalase and superoxide dismutase (SOD) which counteract the toxic effect of ROS and act as antioxidants.

5-      Correlate the above factors with sperm motility in subfertile males.

Results to be obtained from this study should clarify the possible role of bateriospermia and ASA in sperm motility. The results should also illustrate the level of the lipid peroxidation and the level of the antioxidant enzymes superoxide dismutase and catalase ahnd the possible correlation with sperm motility.

ABSTRACT

ِِAnalysis and evaluation of the procedures used in menu planning of diabetic diet is a necessitate  responsibility to be done in Jordanian hospitals. Conducting this study, will evaluate the following aspects of diabetes:

1.      The percentage of diabetic diet menus in Jordanian   Hospitals.

2.      The overall nutritional adequacy

3.      The percentage of carbohydrate, protein, and fat in the diet.

4.      The nutrients distribution through out the day.

5.      The characteristics of diabetic diet in Jordanian Hospitals

This work is not an extension of any previous work. What makes this work unique is that for the first time we are trying to study the details of diabetic diet in Jordanian Hospitals. No previous similar work was done .

ABSTRACT

Realizing that as any profession matures, the character of that profession is often altered by extended practice, education and increased public awareness, it became necessary that our academic program should be reviewed and reconstructed as required to meet the needs dictated by the evolving situations external to the institution such as the health needs of the Kingdom of Jordan and the needs of the graduates in practice. The goals of the present project are:

Creating a career profile of all the physical therapy graduates from the Hashemite University.-

-Taking feedback from the graduate regarding the Physical therapy curriculum.

-Initiating a formal assessment of the program and plan (this is a requirement of the Physical Therapy World Federation for formal recognition of the program).

-Working toward creating the bases for a common curriculum to the three physical therapy programs in Jordan (the Hashemite University, University of Jordan and Jordan University of Science and Technology).

The data is being collected using a questionnaire designed specifically for this purpose.

ABSTRACT

It has been demonstrated that microalbuminuria and Cystatin C are elevated in diabetic nephropathy. In addition, it has been suggested that the occurrence of diabetic nephropathy is haptoglobin-phenotype dependent. Therefore it would be possible that the levels of Cystatin C and microalbuminuria are also haptoglobin-phenotype dependent. It is the purpose of this study to investigate the role of Hp polymorphism in the development of diabetic nephropathy by correlating the levels of Cystatin C and microalbuminuria with Hp phenotypes in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
